Hi. I am in Orlando Florida, and we don't have a winter for the bees to hibernate. I do have fresh cut bamboo. Should I refrigerate the bamboo that has bee cocoons in it over the warm winter. Should I wash it first, to make sure there is no mites on outer side? I have room in a garage fridge drawer. I just discovered your site and am enjoying it! Hope you can help! Lisa

If you say she is the beez-kneez, then she izz. I've kicked in. Besides, who would not want to do all one could for someone who clothes their chicks? While I cannot partake in the amazing Karen's pies, I can dream.

Tom, I am really sorry to hear about your dad. He was a wonderful man and I have very fond memories of the conversations I had with him. He always talked to me about how proud he was of his children and the adventures of his life in the Air Force. He was really more of an Indiana Jones than I think most people realized. I stumbled upon your blog a while back and I check in to read it every once in a while. Please tell your Mom, Linda and Bill that I am really sorry to hear about your dad. Peace and love to all of you.

Thanks Patricia for the visit and here's to your new country life. Northern California is such a stunning part of the world and a place where some of my favorite fruits prefer to grow. I have a couple citrus but they become houseplants around November.

After a long haul at middle school I sit in my back garden... I SEE bees, acanthus molis, green grass, apple blossoms, the cedar tree... I HEAR bees, dogs barking, the train down on Ruston Way, crows arguing, a pretty bird song... I am so thankful for this. And for friends, children I love, Emma and Tess, my sweetie pie, good kids, the sun.. the moon... the stars...

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend. Love to you Tom, Boz, Gracie and all our friends.
